Privacy Policy
How Indie & Co. collects, uses, and protects information from visitors and clients.
Who We Are
Indie & Cooperatives ("Indie & Co.", "we", "us", "our") is a digital marketing agency based in Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago, providing website design, local SEO, paid media, and related digital marketing services to businesses across Trinidad & Tobago and the wider Caribbean.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website (indieandcooperatives.web.app) and our Business Portal, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
Information We Collect
We collect information in a few limited ways, and only what we genuinely need to respond to you or run our services:
Information you give us directly
- Contact & enquiry forms: name, business name, phone/WhatsApp number, email address, the service you're interested in, and any message or project details you choose to share.
- Referral partner applications: name, WhatsApp number, email address, and how you plan to refer clients.
- Business Portal accounts: if you are a staff member or referral partner with portal access, we store your name, email, and a password you set, along with records of clients you refer and commissions earned.
Information collected automatically
- Basic usage data: pages visited, general device/browser type, and referring pages, via Firebase Analytics — used only in aggregate to understand how the site is used, never to identify you personally.
- Cookies: see the Cookies & Tracking section below.
We do not collect payment card details on this website. Any invoicing or payment for services is handled directly and separately, outside of this site.
How We Use It
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to enquiries, quote requests, and Digital Acceleration Grant applications;
- Review and manage referral partner applications and track commissions owed;
- Operate and secure the Business Portal for authorised staff and partners;
- Understand, in aggregate, how visitors use our site so we can improve it;
- Meet legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations where applicable.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Legal Basis & Consent
Where you submit a form on this site, you are giving us your consent to be contacted about the enquiry you raised. You can withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to delete your information (see Your Rights). Where we rely on cookies for analytics, we ask for your consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit — see below.
Cookies & Tracking
Our site uses a small number of cookies and similar local-storage technologies:
- Essential cookies/local storage: used to remember your cookie-consent choice, keep a Business Portal session signed in, and cache portfolio content for faster loading. These are required for the site to function and can't be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: used only if you accept them via our cookie banner, to help us understand aggregate site traffic through Firebase Analytics. You can decline these and continue using the site normally.
You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings, and can change your analytics preference by clearing your browser's site data for this domain, which will show the cookie banner again on your next visit.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of reputable third-party service providers to run this site, each of whom processes data under their own privacy terms:
- Google Firebase (Hosting, Firestore database, Storage, Analytics) — hosts our website and stores enquiry, portfolio, and portal data. See Firebase's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — loads the typefaces used on this site.
- WhatsApp — if you click a WhatsApp link, you'll be taken to WhatsApp's own platform, governed by Meta's privacy policy.
Data Storage & Security
Form submissions and portal data are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage), which encrypts data in transit and at rest. Access to the Business Portal and its underlying data is restricted to authenticated staff and referral partners. As with any online service, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your information.
Data Retention
We keep enquiry and client information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, deliver services, and meet accounting or legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Referral partner and commission records are kept for the duration of the partnership and a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping.
Your Rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete your information, where we're not required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons;
- Stop contacting you about a particular enquiry.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at indieandcooperatives@gmail.com. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Children's Privacy
Our services are directed at businesses and business owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected here; we encourage you to review this page periodically.
